10 questions to ask about core values.

What are the company's core values, actually? Who is better to answer that than the employees themselves. They are the ones who shape the culture, and they need to be able to see themselves in the values before they can truly resonate.

That's why it's obvious to involve them, so they can contribute and help define the values.

When you involve them, it's important to ask the question in a high-engaging way. Don't directly ask "what core values can be found in the company." Instead, ask multiple questions that are easier to answer and relate to everyday experiences. When all their answers are put together, you will indeed gain a valuable insight.

Some example questions could be:

1. What motivates you to come to work every day, and can you explain why?
   
This question can provide insight into individual drivers and what employees consider important.

2. Which aspects of our work make you feel proud, and can you explain why?
   
This can help discover what employees value and find positive within the organization.

3. What behaviors of colleagues do you admire, and can you explain why?
   
Understanding which traits and behaviors are appreciated can help identify important values.

4. What values do you find important when working with others, and can you explain why?
   
This question focuses on interactions among team members and can aid in determining shared norms and values.

5. What makes our organization unique compared to other companies, and can you explain why?
   
This can reveal which aspects are seen as distinctive and may serve as core values.

6. How do we want to be perceived by customers/clients, and can you explain why?
   
Determining how the organization is externally perceived can lead to identifying values important for customer experience.

7. Which management decisions have positively influenced you, and can you explain why?
   
This question can unveil decisions that align with the desired values and culture of the organization.

8. What do you believe our organization cares most about, and can you explain why?
   
By asking this question, you can determine which aspects employees consider a priority.

9. How do we contribute to the community or society, and can you explain why?
   
This can help identify community involvement as a potential core value.

10. What behavioral norms should never be violated within our organization, and can you explain why?
   
Inquire about ethical and moral values considered essential.

Encouraging employees to explain their responses will provide a more comprehensive understanding of their perspectives and reasoning.
